Field notes for the modern explorer.
This blog started as a way to keep a log of our adventures in one place: campgrounds we’ve visited, the gear we’ve used, the roads we’ve taken, and the moments that made each trip memorable.
Every adventure brings a new mix of places, people, challenges, and memories I hope to look back on years from now. I wanted a way to track it all, like which campsites are worth returning to, what towns make great pit stops, what gear we used, and what I’d do differently next time. What began as an idea for a personal log slowly turned into something that could also be helpful to others.
Camping naturally leads to a growing collection of gear. Some of it is researched endlessly, while other items are picked up on a whim from the local “genny” in the middle of nowhere. After coming across countless sponsored reviews, I realized how valuable honest, real-world feedback can be. This website is where I can share my own experience with the gear I actually use. Just my take on what works, what’s worth upgrading, and what has earned a permanent spot in the adventures.
This space is part trip log, part gear journal, and part open notebook. Field notes for the modern explorer.
